MOCHI for the New Year

We eat MOCHI, Japanese sticky rice cake, on the New Year's day.
My mother made MOCHI by a machine.

We eat MOCHI in several ways, soysouce, soybeans sweet powder, and so on.

These are sweet bean paste balls which are put into MOCHI.

MOCHI is also offered to the gods.
We pile up two cakes and put a kind of Japanese orange on the top.

This arrangement of MOCHI is only for the gods during the New Year.
